Today we had Startup Wise Guys demo day in Amsterdam as pre TNW event.
But I want to share something else. I’m used to the thing that the best happens at the end of experiences. And it’s unexpected. We are near the end of accelerator now and what happened was unexpected.
Just before we started pitches, our batch manager Juan Alonso called all teams out and in an informal setting said some sentences. Very powerful sentences that completely changed how I see this whole chain of pitching events and demo days that started today and will continue for at least couple of weeks.
What he said was, simply put, this - guys, you are pitching for only one reason - to tell the audience what you are passionate about, why you are passionate about it, to what you’ve decided to devote your life and why you’ve decided just that. You are here to tell your story, your work-life passion. Don’t worry about investments, that’s not the main point here.
And it makes a lot of sense. Passion is contagious. Passion comes from the heart and creates, not consumes. Passion leaves no space for freaking out.
P.S. Photo by Lone Jensen from Motivio's pitch where I was telling about the moment when and why we pivoted. But that’s another story.
